Remembering the ANZACs and Playing Interschool Sports

This term all of the Grade 3/4s have started learning about the ANZACs. ANZAC means Australian and New Zealand Army Corps and they first fought in World War I.

We’ve done lots of different activities where the Grade 3/4s had to split up into groups. The groups had names like Diggers, Poppies, Rosemary and Soldiers.

It was really interesting and exciting and we all learnt how hard it was back then and how important it is to remember all of the ANZACs.

As you all know the senior school plays inter school sports. In winter these are AFL, soccer and netball.

At the end of last term we did try outs and the first few weeks have just been training. On Friday we played our first game against Pascoe Vale Primary. The boys soccer won 6-1, the girls soccer lost 2-1, the AFL lost by three goals, the girls netball won 6-0 and finally the mixed netball won 10-0.

These are good results considering we have so many grade 3/4s in all of our teams and the other schools have only grade 5/6s. There are four more games this season and we all wish the best of luck to all of our teams and hope everyone has fun and enjoys the games.
